About the Position

For Meesho off-campus hiring, We require Android developers who can tackle problems with innovative ideas to join our troupe of Android Developers. They should have their hands on all parts of the development including programming, user interfaces, and the tools that support Android applications using the Android SDK. As an SDE I-Android, you can learn about the creation of clean, testable code bases, you will understand API design and test-driven development. What you will do

• Do code reviews, write unit tests, and take part in broad architectural planning and refactoring
• Fix bugs and improve the application’s performance
• Develop new features and enhancements for the Android platform
• Coach new entrants and take the place of team members
• Work closely with the Quality Assurance Department, Engineers, Product Managers, and Designers in different areas
• Make a joint effort with the cross-functional teams by articulating the requirements, creating design mock-ups and shipping the features

What you will need

• A graduation degree such as BE/BTech/BCA/BSc in any discipline
• Experience of one year or more in the related position
• Experience of functioning with at least two or more different Android apps in the past
• Being acquainted with Java, Kotlin, Android SDK, and the ecosystem and knowing about the development of apps using these technologies
• Knowing Material Design guidelines, common mobile UX patterns, and anti-patterns and the ability to work with them
• Experience with usual Android libraries such as Retrofit, OkHttp, Picasso, RxJava, Gson Arch-components etc.
• Experience in merging objects, events, and functions, using classes and methods. It also means using different combinations of programming models that will prevent the program from crashing
• Know about consuming REST APIs, and what makes them RESTful. Training in conversations between the two elements that provide’ data and actions that are required
• Knowledge of Git and integration into the development cycle
• Developing the program using object-oriented programming and multi-threading
• Layout of features in Android using Custom Views, Accessibility Services,
• background processing APIs
• Understanding of different architectural patterns (esp. MVVM) and their testability
• Debugging of the system, for example, locating the memory leak, the performance bottleneck, and other tools tests such as using ADB, Proguard, etc.
• The talent to weigh the good design against the bad and choose the best one
• Expression of ideas in the form of clean, maintainable code that can be modified by other programmers.
• Apps that are published on the Play Store are a plus
