The US Consumer Services organization is looking for a Data Analyst Job At American Express for the New Data Innovation Analytics team within the US Consumer Analytics team. This person will lead the creation of use cases to support growth and competitive benchmarking using bureau data, third-party data, and in-house modeling capabilities.

Requirements:

• A degree from a well-known university, either after finishing college or during college
• No more than 1 year of experience working with data analysis
• Someone who starts projects on their own can find important information from data, suggest what to do next, and achieve goals quickly in a busy setting
• Can work well with others in a team
• Has good skills in talking and working with different people
• A person who thinks in new ways and can learn fast, even when facing unclear or difficult problems
• Can work with different groups of people from all over the world
• Knowing how to write computer programs is helpful but not required
• Understanding of SQL and Python programming languages is helpful but not required
• Familiar with Microsoft Office tools like PowerPoint and Excel

Responsibilities:

• Study how our customers use our cards compared to other cards by looking at how much money they spend on each type of card. This helps us find areas where customers might be losing interest.
• Improve the way we measure how much money customers spend on our cards compared to others, using information from outside sources to get a complete and accurate picture of our revenue.
• Understand how different age groups feel about our cards to see if their preferences and habits are changing. Work with other teams to make sure our strategies for making money are up to date.
• Work with teams inside and outside our company to gather important information about the card industry and compare our cards to others to see how we’re doing.
• Look for new ways to use data from inside and outside our company and create plans to help us grow.
